Artists Statement
I consider myself an Artist, a creator of art in Photography and inherently in pursuit of whatever soul may be found in a thing.
For all things, objects, people and places, have a soul. It is up to the Artist to bring this into a more comprehensive medium for all the Understand.
My process of Creation tends to be spontaneous, a glimpse at what could be done. Now normally this has some sort of a planned base, a certain time or place perhaps, but the genuine soul of a Photo is rarely something I think of prior to the day of the Shoot. I know that creativity, while infinite, is exhaustible, and to use such over a long period toiling for the exact composition of a photograph to be... unappealing.
What I truly believe in my art, something I try to reflect in my photographs, is a soul, whether that be emotional in joyful extacy, overridden with a silent anxiety, or simply humanity, frozen in time like some sort of Museum exhibit of a long bygone era.
When no human soul is present, I simply draw out the soul of whatever may be the subject.
The powerful stoicism of a curling river, a bastion of time upon the hill, or the potential emotion of a dormant instrument.
Whatever the case may be, I, Tobias Sterling Flynn Moore, am an Artist, and shall continue to search for soul, wherever it may be found.
